The COSCA/NACM Joint Technology Committee has issued a new report: “Managing Digital Evidence in Courts”.  The report identifies potential challenges and recommends steps courts should consider when receiving, evaluating, protecting, and presenting digital evidence, including video from body-worn cameras, private citizens, and other sources.

A new Joint Technology Committee (JTC) Resource Bulletin, “Developing an Electronic Records Preservation and Disposition Plan,” explores a myriad of issues relating to electronic records retention. It builds on a 2012-2013 Policy Paper published by the Conference of State Court Administrators (COSCA), “To Protect and Preserve: Standards for Maintaining and Managing 21st Century Court Records.”

New “Chip” Credit Cards Will Change Usage Liability for Courts

The Joint Technology Committee (JTC) of the Conference of State Court Administrators (COSCA) and the National Association for Court Management (NACM) recently published a resource bulletin on "Strategic Issues to Consider before Starting an E-filing Initiative."  This paper discusses some of the key policy, operational and technical issues to consider before embarking on an e-filing project.  It also includes feedback from interviews with several Court and IT managers who have graciously shared experiences and lessons learned from their own e-filing projects.
