Florida Courts Offer New Litigant Help App



In an article posted at WFSU Public Media on December 15, 2017, we learned about the new Florida Courts Mobile App that was unveiled by Chief Justice Jorge Labarga for the Florida Civil Justice Commission.  It was noted in the article that “Former Florida Bar president and Commission on Access to Civil Justice member Greg Coleman says improved mobile access will help people who can’t afford attorneys.”

Florida Courts Help is a website and a mobile phone app that is described as a “guide to direct you through the court system. Here you will find information about local self-help centers, free and low-cost legal aid, and family law forms.”

The app provides the following categories of help:
  1. Get Started
  2. Find Forms
  3. The Process (description)
  4. Helpful Videos
  5. Find a Court
  6. Help Centers that are available
  7. A dictionary of Legal Terms
  8. Legal Resources links
  9. E-Filing Forms
  10. And of course, the Disclaimer for the information provided

Additional help includes a FAQ, recommendations for preparing for court, finding a law library and help at the courthouse, information about interpreters, and multiple forms.
