The National Consortium for Justice Information and Statistics has announced the "Justice Information Exchange Implementation Project Competitive Award" program.
"The goal of this solicitation is to award funds and provide technical assistance to award recipients (hereinafter called project participants) to develop and implement operational information exchanges that address key information sharing business problems while following the guidance and standards provided by the GRA. Where applicable and appropriate, project participants will implement other parts of the Global Information Sharing Toolkit (GIST), including the Global Federated Identity and Privilege Management (GFIPM) guidance and the Global Technical Privacy Framework.
Awards will be made to successful candidates as follows:

- Maximum Award Amount: $50,000
- Maximum Number of Awards: 5
- No match is required; however, projects funded under this solicitation are expected to demonstrate long-term financial viability and may incur additional ongoing costs.
- Proposals that align with the strategic objectives of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) will be given preference.
- Areas of focus include: interstate justice information sharing, offender management and reentry, health/mental health and justice exchanges, prescription drug monitoring, warrants and dispositions, juvenile violence.
- Proposals that implement exchange functionality (GRA adapters, connectors, and intermediaries) in a manner that is easily and inexpensively reusable in other jurisdictions, including use of open source technology for these components, will be given preference.
